What groups of people are included in the body of Christ?
The body of Christ includes every believer, not just an elite or especially spiritual group. Scripture specifies that it includes both Jew and Gentile and both bond and free, gathered from every corner of the globe. By one Spirit all believers are baptized into one body, the Church Universal, at the moment of salvation.
Les teaches from 1 Corinthians 12:12-13 that by one Spirit all believers—not just the most elite or most spiritual, which is man’s idea—are baptized into one body, the Church Universal. That body includes believers from whatever corner of the globe they may be, whether Jew or Gentile, whether bond or free, and all have been made to partake of one Spirit. This is an invisible act of the Holy Spirit, with no outside manifestation; we know it happened only because the Book says it did. At the moment of salvation, the Holy Spirit places every believer into this body of Christ, which will one day be His Bride. Les reminds us this is about position, not sexuality.
For as the body is one, and hath many members, and all the members of that one body, being many, are one body: so also is Christ.
