Who belongs to the Body of Christ?

Every believer around the world belongs to the Body of Christ, regardless of color or denominational handle. Scripture presents it as a Pauline revelation, a new term not found in the Gospels. As members of one body, believers are all part and parcel of Him, not separate bodies.

Les explains that in I Corinthians 12 Paul uses the human body as an illustration of the Body of Christ. Just as a person has ten fingers, ten toes, eyes, ears, arms, and legs—many members—yet does not have twenty bodies but one, so the Body of Christ is one. Les teaches that this is a new term, a Pauline revelation not found in the Gospels. He says every believer around the world, regardless of color or denominational handle, if they are a believer, belongs to that one Body and is part and parcel of Him.

1 Corinthians 12:13

For by one Spirit are we all baptized into one body, whether we be Jews or Gentiles, whether we be bond or free; and have been all made to drink into one Spirit.
