What happens spiritually at the moment of salvation?
At salvation, God translates the believer from spiritual darkness into the kingdom of His dear Son, delivering them from the power of darkness. That deliverance includes the power of Satan, the principalities and powers over the human race, and the power of the little Adam. The believer becomes a member of Christ's kingdom.
Les teaches that at salvation, along with all the other things God has done on our behalf, He has translated us out of spiritual darkness into the kingdom of His dear Son, which is in heaven. It is past tense: He has delivered us from the power of darkness. Les explains that the power of darkness includes the power of Satan and the principalities and powers incumbent upon the human race, but also the power of that little Adam. The kingdom remains centered in the person of Christ; He is King of kings and Lord of lords, though Les maintains He is not the King of the church but the head of the body. That same kingdom will one day be established on earth, and believers will be there with it, ruling and reigning with Christ over the kingdom of which they are now members by virtue of their salvation experience.
