Les Feldick Bible Study

Why does Les think Christianity is losing the idea that the just shall live by faith?

Christianity is losing the idea that the just shall live by faith because people are wrapped up in works, materialism, doing this and that, and programs for this and that, instead of the one clear definition of faith: taking God at His Word.

Les explains that Martin Luther, cloistered in a Catholic monastery, came to the conclusion that the just shall live by faith—not by works, not by religion, not by ritual, but by faith. That became the great theme of the Reformation. Les observes that Christianity has come close to losing that again, because people are wrapped up in works, materialism, and endless programs. He defines faith as simply taking God at His Word, as Hebrews 11 will show.
