What did God do for us when He bought us out of the spiritual slave market?

Les explains that spiritually we were in the same condition as slaves in the 1800s—taken from Africa, shipped across the ocean, sold in the slave market, and treated worse than animals. God saw every one of us in that condition, and it was not a pretty picture. But He bought us out of that slave market, set us free, cleaned us up, gave us a whole new wardrobe, put us in a beautiful place to live, not materially but spiritually, set our feet upon a rock, and gave us hope. All we had to do was believe it. Les notes that just as buying a slave in Virginia in the 1840s and 50s required money, wealth, clout, influence, and power, God accomplished our redemption with His power.
