Why is there nothing more we can do after Christ's death and resurrection?

Scripture teaches that Christ has done it all, finished the work of the cross, and rose victorious over the grave and death. Since His work is complete, salvation comes by believing, not by doing a list of works. There is nothing more we can do.

Les explains that the Bible does not teach a system of “do this, and do this, and do this” and then hope you are saved. Instead, it teaches to believe that Christ has done it all. He points out that when Christ finished the work of the cross and rose victorious over the grave and over death, there is nothing more we can do. The finished work of Christ is complete, so salvation rests on simply believing in what He accomplished.
