What does it mean if I still have to beg for forgiveness?

It means one has not believed what Scripture declares about the cross. God's mercy was poured out on the cross, all sin was paid in full, and every human being has already been forgiven. He does not expect begging; He says, "You are forgiven—believe it."

Les explains that if a person still has to beg for forgiveness, then the Book is a lie, because it says all the mercy of God was poured out on the cross. God has already forgiven every human being all his sin; it was paid for in full. He does not expect someone to beg to be forgiven. Instead, He says, "You are forgiven. Believe it." The other word used in 2 Corinthians 5 is reconciled: the world has already been reconciled to God. From Adam to the end of time, every sin has already been paid for, and the only thing God now asks is to believe it. Les connects this to Hebrews chapter 2, verse 9.
