Les Feldick Bible Study

Can you be saved if you have a problem with Jesus' resurrection?

No. The resurrection stands at the heart of the gospel and is the basis of salvation. If a person denies or has a problem with the resurrection, they lack the power of the resurrection as the basis of salvation, because salvation rests on God raising Jesus from the dead.

Les teaches that Jesus was declared to be the Son of God by power according to the Spirit of holiness through the resurrection from the dead. Les says the resurrection stands at the heart of the gospel. He notes many have told him they have a pastor or Sunday school teacher who believes Christ died and is somehow the Savior, but they have a problem with His resurrection. Les responds that he then has a problem understanding that they are even saved, because if the power of the resurrection is not the basis of salvation, they have none. It all rests on God raising Christ from the dead. It is not enough to believe Jesus was a good man or that He died a crucifixion; the Gospel must reach its fruition in His resurrection, victorious over sin, hell, and death. After the resurrection, Peter was no longer afraid of Rome, the Jews, or anyone, because he had witnessed the power of resurrection.
