What was the doctrine of the Lord that Paul delivered in Acts 13?

The doctrine of the Lord that Paul delivered in Acts 13 was that Christ died for the sins of the world. It was the preaching of the cross—Christ crucified—which is the power of God to those who are saved, not human wisdom or signs.

Les explains that when Acts 13 speaks of the doctrine of the Lord coming from Paul’s lips, the content was “how that Christ died for the sins of the world.” Paul’s theme was Christ crucified and the preaching of the cross. That gospel is foolishness to those who perish, but to those who are saved it is the power of God. Paul did not preach signs and miracles for the Jews or philosophy for the Greeks; he preached Christ crucified. This same message was preached to the deputy and repeatedly appears throughout Paul’s letters.
