Does the true church, the Body of Christ, have an earthly headquarters?
The true church, the Body of Christ, has no earthly headquarters. It is made up of every born-again believer, Jew or Gentile, placed into the Body at salvation. Denominations may have headquarters, but the Body of Christ does not; its headquarters is in heaven.
Les explains that the real New Testament church is the Body of Christ, that consortium of every born-again believer, whether Jew or Gentile, black or white. All are placed into the Body of Christ at the moment of salvation. He emphasizes that the Body of Christ has no earthly headquarters; denominations may have headquarters, but the true church does not, because its headquarters is in heaven. In the context, the church at Antioch had prophets and teachers, and Paul did not claim to be the only one but the first and leader. The Holy Spirit, not merely the Antioch church, sent Paul and Barnabas out, showing God's providential control.
