When does Christ become your personal Savior?
Christ becomes your personal Savior once you understand the Gospel—that Christ died for you, paid your sin penalty, was buried, and rose again—and you believe it. Then you take Him into your heart, and He becomes your personal Savior.
Les explains that many reduce the Gospel to clichés such as 'take Jesus into your heart' or 'believe in Jesus,' but those phrases alone are not the Gospel. The Gospel is that Christ died for our sin penalty, suffered in our place, shed His blood in total payment, was buried, and arose victorious. Once a person understands and believes that Gospel, then they take Christ into their heart, and He becomes their personal Savior.
