Is God's grace greater than any person's sin?

Yes. The grace of God is greater than any person's sin; it is always greater. Grace is not license to sin, but it saves even those who came out of immoral idolatry. God saves by His grace, and this grace takes preeminence in Paul's teaching.

Les explains that beginning with Paul, the word 'grace' appears a couple hundred times because the grace of God takes preeminence. Before that, grace was more or less mentioned as one of His attributes. Very few people even today understand God's grace. He shares an illustration from a book on Romans: if you are not accused of teaching a Gospel that gives people the idea they can do as they please because they're under the grace of God, you're probably not preaching the Gospel of the grace of God. Paul was falsely accused of preaching that just because God's grace is great, go ahead and sin as you wish. But grace is not license. On the other hand, very few comprehend that the grace of God is greater than any person's sin—it's always greater. The Gentiles at Antioch had come out of immoral idolatry, yet God saved them by His grace. Barnabas saw that grace, was glad, and exhorted them to cleave to the Lord with purpose of heart.
