When did Paul begin his ministry among the Gentiles?

Paul began his ministry among the Gentiles in 40 A.D., after he had spent three years in the desert. By the time of the Jerusalem council, about 22 years after Pentecost, he had already been laboring among the Gentiles for 12 years.

Les teaches that this Jerusalem council was 22 or 23 years after Pentecost. Paul had been out amongst the Gentiles ever since 40 A.D., after he had spent three years down in the desert. So for 12 years Paul had been laboring among the Gentiles. At the council, believing Pharisees argued that Gentiles needed circumcision and to keep the Law of Moses, but Paul and Barnabas said no way.
