When were Peter's epistles written in relation to Peter and Paul's deaths and the temple's destruction?
Peter’s epistles were written shortly before both Peter and Paul were martyred. Their martyrdoms occurred shortly before the Romans destroyed the temple in 70 A.D. Thus the epistles precede both deaths and precede the temple’s destruction by only a short interval.
Les teaches that Peter’s epistles are placed at the back of the Bible, but they were written just shortly before Peter and Paul were both martyred. Both martyrdoms would happen just shortly before the Romans destroyed the temple in 70 A.D. In Acts, Peter is touched on in chapter 10 and a little in chapter 11 or 12, then he fades off the scene and is never heard from again, while the book is filled with the Apostle Paul and his dealings with the Gentiles. At this point Saul has been converted and is the head of the Gentile converts, maintaining that he was the leader of sinners saved by grace, and Peter comes back into the scene at Acts chapter 10 with Cornelius.
