What was about to happen to Israel in just a few years?
Within just a few years, Israel would lose the Temple, the priesthood, their city, and their nation, and would be dispersed into every nation on earth. This came as God was turning to the Gentiles, while the twelve apostles were still unaware of what was coming.
Les teaches that God was now turning to the Gentile, and Israel was going to, in just a few years, lose the Temple, lose the priesthood, lose their city, lose their nation, and be dispersed into every nation on earth. Yet the twelve apostles were as yet unaware of that. Les explains that they seemed to be somewhat and thought they were still in control of the situation. In conference they added nothing to Paul, because they did not have the revelations he now had. When they saw that the gospel of the uncircumcision—the Gentile gospel—was committed to Paul, as the gospel of the circumcision was committed to Peter, they understood these were two separate entities. The same God who wrought effectually in Peter to the apostleship of the circumcision was mighty in Paul to the Gentiles.
