Had anyone told Ananias that he was under grace rather than the Law?

No one had told Ananias that he was no longer under the Law and was now under grace. He remained a believing, law-keeping Jew who had not been instructed to quit temple worship or stop legalism, though he recognized Jesus as the Christ.

Les teaches that Ananias was a devout man according to the Word, a Jew. He was a believing but law-keeping Jew. No one had yet told Ananias he was not under the Law but under grace. Likewise, no one had told these Jewish believers to quit temple worship or stop legalism; they maintained their Judaism while also recognizing that Jesus was the Christ. Paul later recounts this Damascus experience in Acts 22 to the multitude of Jews.
