Who was Ananias in the account of Saul's conversion?
Ananias was a believing Jew in Damascus whom God spoke to in a vision. The Lord told him to go to the street called Straight and inquire at the house of Judas for Saul, who was praying and had seen in a vision a man named Ananias coming in.
Les explains that after Saul’s Damascus road experience, God worked both ends to the middle: while dealing with Saul outside the city, He was also working on Ananias inside Damascus. Ananias was a believing Jew there. In Acts chapter 9, verse 11, the Lord told him to arise, go into the street called Straight, and inquire in the house of Judas for Saul, who was praying. Saul had also seen in a vision a man named Ananias coming in.
And there was a certain disciple at Damascus, named Ananias; and to him said the Lord in a vision, Ananias. And he said, Behold, I am here, Lord.
