What was the Lord speaking to Ananias about regarding Saul?

The Lord spoke to Ananias concerning Saul, who would shortly come into his acquaintanceship. Ananias responded by recounting how much evil Saul had done to the saints at Jerusalem and that he had authority from the chief priests to bind all who call on the Lord's name.

Les explains that the Lord is speaking through Ananias concerning Saul, who will shortly come into his acquaintanceship. Ananias answers in verse 13, saying he has heard by many how much evil Saul did to the saints at Jerusalem, and that he has authority from the chief priests to bind all who call on the Lord's name. Les notes Saul is the chief persecutor, intent on stamping out anyone who embraced Jesus of Nazareth as Israel's Messiah. He adds that the major mentality of most Jews, even today, is like Saul of Tarsus: they think Jesus was an imposter and blasphemer, and that removing His name from Israel does God a favor. Les also shares an anecdote of an Evangelical and an old Jewish Rabbi arguing about Jesus' Messiahship, where the Rabbi denied Jesus had ever been there.
