Why did Paul get in trouble with the Jews?
Paul got in trouble with the Jews because he taught there is no difference between Jew and Greek—the same Lord over all is rich unto all who call upon Him. This removed Jewish distinction and privilege, requiring all, Jew and Greek alike, to call upon the Lord for salvation.
Les explains that in Romans chapter 10, after the promise that whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed, Paul brings in the truth that got him in trouble with the Jews: there is no difference between Jew and Greek, for the same Lord over all is rich unto all who call upon Him. Les notes this is not a blanket effect but to those who call upon Him. This was the issue because it put Jew and Greek on the same footing. Les also emphasizes verse 13 and the capstone: we must believe what the Bible says about ourselves as sinners (Romans 3.23-24), then recognize it and verbally call upon the Lord.
