How can Peter and Paul be teaching two different doctrines if there is only one God?

God has two distinct programs for two distinct groups: Peter ministers to Jews under the Abrahamic covenant, while Paul is apostle to Gentiles. Though the doctrines differ, the same God orchestrates both, and they fit together in His overall plan. Both rest on the fundamental truth of Christ's death, burial, and resurrection.

Les explains that the confusion arises because people do not see the distinct ministries in the early chapters of Acts. Peter, Peter, Peter is ministering to the Jew, the Jew, the Jew. God is laying out clearly that Paul is the apostle of the Gentiles. These are two different groups of people, two different doctrines, but the same God, and everything is fitting together. Peter remains under the covenant program that began with Abraham, which was in effect all through Christ's earthly ministry. Christ ministered to the Jew to prove He was the King coming in fulfillment of the Abrahamic covenant. Les notes he does not expect everyone to agree, and disagreement does not make someone a heretic, because he is still blood-bought and a firm believer in the death, burial, and resurrection of Christ, which is fundamental to all this. He is anxious to get to chapter 9 and the conversion of Saul to see these vast differences more evidently.
