In what way was Moses a type of the Deliverer and Redeemer?
Moses served as a type of the Deliverer and Redeemer by bringing Israel out of slavery, leading them out of captivity, and bringing them to Abraham's God. Even as Moses was the Deliverer in type back then, Peter continues on covenant ground, calling every Jew to become a believer and be born again.
Les explains that Peter, still speaking to the great crowd of Jews, takes them back to Moses' role in Israel's life. Moses was the Deliverer and, in so many words, the Redeemer. He brought them out of slavery, led them out of captivity, and brought them unto Abraham's God. Even as Moses was the Deliverer in type back then, Peter continues on covenant ground, as Les came to see. The follow-up is that if Israel had repented, no unbelieving Jews would go in, but the admonition is for every Jew to become a believer. No unbeliever will ever go into the Kingdom of Heaven, echoing Jesus' words that except a man be born again, he cannot enter the Kingdom of Heaven.
For Moses truly said unto the fathers, A prophet shall the Lord your God raise up unto you of your brethren, like unto me; him shall ye hear in all things whatsoever he shall say unto you.
