How does Moses' first and second appearance to Israel foreshadow Christ's second coming?
Moses first came to Israel and was refused, but at his second appearance God sent him as ruler and deliverer, and Israel followed him. So Christ was rejected at His first coming; at His second coming Israel will recognize and acclaim Him as Messiah, their deliverer.
Les explains from Stephen's lesson that Moses came the first time to deliver Israel, but they rejected him, saying, "Who made thee a ruler and a judge?" At his second appearance, God sent the same Moses as ruler and deliverer, and then Israel followed him. The lesson is that on both instances it was the second time that things came to the full. Just as Joseph was recognized at his second time, so Israel will recognize the Messiah the second time. The same thing is true with Christ: the first time they rejected Him, but the second time they will acclaim Him. Les then returns to Matthew 24 and 25 on this same concept of the second coming.
This Moses whom they refused, saying, Who made thee a ruler and a judge? the same did God send to be a ruler and a deliverer by the hand of the angel which appeared to him in the bush.
