Why will Jesus not stay in heaven forever?

Jesus will not remain in heaven forever because Scripture says heaven must receive Him only until the times of restitution of all things. That appointed time includes the seven-year Tribulation, when the earth is restored from the curse back to its Edenic condition. Then He will leave heaven again to accomplish that restoration.

Les teaches that the passage continues the thought that heaven must receive Jesus until the times of restitution of all things. He points out that 'until' is a time word, showing Jesus is not going to stay in heaven forever; a time will come when He leaves heaven again. That time is the restitution of all things, which Les identifies as the Tribulation—the seven years pictured in Revelation chapter 5, where the seals are peeled off the scroll. That scroll is the road map of the seven years paying off the mortgage Satan has held since Adam fell. The earth has been under the curse almost 6,000 years, but it will be restored to its Edenic condition before sin entered, becoming a beautiful Garden of Eden. Even though Peter expected the Lord's immediate return to Israel if they repented, he recognized they must go through the seven years of restitution. So Jesus remains in heaven until that appointed time, then returns to restore all things.

Acts 3:21

Whom the heaven must receive until the times of restitution of all things, which God hath spoken by the mouth of all his holy prophets since the world began.
