What does God give us when He saves us and places us into the body?
When God saves us and places us into the body, He gives us an innate ability to respond to Him. If our salvation is genuine, we will have the capacity to love Him in return. This is part of what God does in salvation, enabling a genuine response of love.
Les explains this in the context of Ephesians 5, where husbands are told to love their wives as Christ loved the church and gave Himself for her. He connects that to creation: God created Adam with the ability to love his helpmate, and He created Eve with an ability to respond. Les then says that is what God does with us. When He saves us and places us into the body, if our salvation is genuine, we are going to have an innate ability to love Him in return. He emphasizes that this is part of it, and that it is what so many people miss.
