How many were convicted on the day of Pentecost after Peter preached that Jesus is the Christ?

On the day of Pentecost, after Peter preached to the nation of Israel that the One they crucified was indeed the Christ, their King and Messiah, many were convicted, and the number was 3,000. This is recorded in Acts chapter 2, verse 41, following Peter’s Pentecost sermon.

Les teaches that Peter was preaching to the nation of Israel and trying to get across to them that the One they crucified was indeed the Christ, their King, their Messiah. Many of them were convicted, and verse 41 shows that 3,000 were there on the day of Pentecost. Then, in verses 42 through 46, they sold everything they owned and put it into a common kitty, and in verse 47 they were praising God and having favor with all the people. Les points out that true Christianity behaves this way: believers contend for the faith and stand for what they feel is the truth, but they do not become contentious, obnoxious, or compromise for the sake of controversy.

Acts 2:41

Then they that gladly received his word were baptized: and the same day there were added unto them about three thousand souls.
