Who did Peter preach to on the day of Pentecost in Acts 2?

On the day of Pentecost, Peter preached to a vast Jewish crowd gathered in Jerusalem for the Jewish feast of Pentecost. They came from every nation under heaven, and he addressed them as the house of Israel, proclaiming that God had made that same Jesus whom they had crucified.

Les explains that this is only fifty days after the crucifixion, and the event is still fresh on everyone's mind. Peter is preaching to a tremendous Jewish crowd, present for the Jewish feast day of Pentecost from every nation under heaven. He quotes Acts 2:36, telling all the house of Israel to know assuredly that God hath made that same Jesus whom they crucified. Their response is shaken: “Men and brethren, what must we do?” Les then points to Acts 3, where similar language appears, urging the reader to determine who Peter is talking to.
