Did the apostle Peter understand everything Paul taught?
No. Peter, writing by inspiration near the end of his life, admitted that some things Paul wrote were hard to be understood. Though he had spent three years with the Lord and preached from Pentecost filled with the Holy Spirit, he still could not fully comprehend everything Paul brought on the scene.
Les explains that Peter’s own inspired statement shows he did not fully understand everything Paul taught. Peter refers to Paul’s epistles and says that in them are some things hard to be understood. Even though Peter spent three years with the Lord Himself, preached from Pentecost on, and was filled with the Holy Spirit, by the end of his life he still could not quite put everything together that Paul had brought on the scene. Les points out that this should encourage people who have questions, because Peter himself had to admit by inspiration that much of what Paul wrote he could not comprehend.
