Is being a Sunday-go-to-meeting Christian enough to please God?
No. A Sunday-go-to-meeting Christian identity is not what God is looking for. God seeks men and women who have experienced genuine salvation and the indwelling Holy Spirit. That Spirit seals believers as the down payment of their inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession—the whole person, body, soul, and spirit.
Les explains that merely saying, “I’m a Sunday go-to-meeting Christian,” is not what God is looking for. God is looking for men and women who have experienced a genuine salvation and the indwelling Holy Spirit. When that happens, we do not need law to tell us what to do and what not to do. The best part is still to come in Ephesians: believers have been sealed or branded with the Holy Spirit of promise, and that indwelling Holy Spirit is the down payment of our inheritance, holding us until the redemption of the purchased possession. The purchased possession is not just the soul but the whole person—body, soul, and spirit.
