Are today's earthquakes and preparations for world government signs that prophecy is already being fulfilled?
No. Increasing earthquakes and global preparations for world government, a world economy, and a world religion are not yet the wheels of prophecy turning. They are simply getting the world ready for when those wheels do turn. All prophecy is directed primarily to Israel.
Les teaches that even as we see an increase in earthquakes and the whole world getting ready for world government, a world economy, and a world religion, that is still not the wheels of prophecy turning yet. It is simply getting it ready for when they do turn. He stresses that all prophecy is directed primarily to the nation of Israel, and there is no prophecy directed to the church. We can see the beginnings of prophecy again, but so far we are not in prophetic dealings at all. Peter’s statement that this was spoken by Joel points back to Old Testament prophecy, including Joel 2:28.
