Les Feldick Bible Study

Are today's disasters a sign of God's wrath?

No. Today's floods, earthquakes, and suffering are not God's wrath yet. God permits them, but Satan is primarily the god of nature today, so such disasters are Satan having his way. God's wrath becomes evident only when the seven-year tribulation begins, when He pays mankind for rebellion.

Les explains that the disasters, floods, and earthquakes today are not God's doing; He merely permits them. He emphasizes that God is not the God of nature primarily today—Satan is—so the world's suffering and disasters are not God's wrath yet. Les teaches that God is simply permitting Satan to have his thing. However, once the seven-year tribulation starts, God's wrath becomes evident, and He will finally pay mankind for their total rebellion and wickedness. The coming judgment on Babylon shows the severity: her plagues come in one day, with death, mourning, famine, and fire, for strong is the Lord God who judges her.
