What will Christ do at His second coming according to Zechariah 14?

At His second coming, Christ will leave heaven and return to earth to fight against the Gentile nations that have captured Jerusalem and taken half its people captive. He will go forth as when He fought in the day of battle, delivering Israel when Satan seems about to succeed.

Les explains that Zechariah 14 describes Jerusalem being taken, houses rifled, and half the city going into captivity, while the residue is not cut off. When it appears Satan is about to succeed in destroying Israel through Gentile armies, then the Lord goes forth. Les points out that the capitalized "Lord" in the Old Testament is Jehovah, and Jesus claimed to be the I Am, so this is the Lord Christ. He has ascended and is in heaven, but He will leave heaven and return to earth to fight against those nations as when He fought in the day of battle—as God fought Israel's battles through her history.

Zechariah 14:3

Then shall the LORD go forth, and fight against those nations, as when he fought in the day of battle.
