Middle Eastern nations are amassing military hardware by the billions because they are getting ready for the end-time doom God will call them to, the battle of Armageddon, when Gentile armies overrun Israel in the closing three and a half years of the Tribulation before the Lord goes forth.

He says the purpose is that they are getting ready for when God will call them all to come to that end-time doom, the battle of Armageddon. The city shall be taken, houses rifled, and there will be no mercy; half the city goes into captivity, and the residue shall not be cut off from the city. Israel will go through terrible days in the closing three and a half years of the Tribulation. The Holocaust of Nazi Germany, awful as it was, will be almost a Sunday school picnic compared to what faces Israel. Israel will be overrun by Gentile armies, and when it appears Satan will finally succeed in destroying the nation, the Lord—Jehovah, the Lord Christ, the I Am—shall go forth. He has ascended and is in heaven, but He will leave heaven and return to earth to fight against those nations as when He fought in the day of battle, when God fought Israel's battles.
