Les Feldick Bible Study

Why does Les say there is so much confusion in the Scriptures?

The confusion in the Scriptures arises because people do not actually read them. They gloss over the text, interpret it according to what they have heard over the years, and fail to take time to see what it plainly says.

Les teaches that the confusion in the Scriptures comes from people not reading. He emphasizes good reading, noting that people will not see what the text says, gloss over it, and interpret it according to what they may have heard over the years rather than taking time to read what it actually says. He illustrates this with the disciples' question in verse 6 about restoring the kingdom to Israel, pointing out that two words, 'Restore Again,' make all the difference in that verse, showing the importance of careful reading.
