What does the huge catch of fish in John 21 represent?

The huge catch of fish in John 21 represents the picture of Israel coming back into the kingdom. Every Jew who is supposed to be in the kingdom will be there, and God will not lose one of them, just as Peter did not lose any of the 153 fish. It is also the eighth sign, signifying new beginnings.

Les explains that this event is the eighth sign in John's Gospel, and eight is always the sign of new beginnings. He teaches that the huge catch pictures Israel coming back into the kingdom: every Jew who is supposed to be in the kingdom will be there, and God will not lose a single one of them, just as Peter did not lose any of the 153 fish. The net was full yet it did not break. Les also notes that when they brought the great net full of fish to shore, Jesus already had fish in the pan waiting for breakfast and said, 'Come and dine.' This was the third time Jesus showed Himself to His disciples after He was risen from the dead.
