Why did God manifest Himself in the flesh?
God manifested Himself in the flesh because humanity has always desired a God it can see and touch, often turning to idolatry. He became visible in Christ so people could no longer claim they cannot worship an invisible God, providing a God men actually saw, including resurrection witnesses.
Les explains that the world craves a God it can see and touch, which is why idolatry has always existed. Christ is the image of God, the likeness that can be seen. God knew this and permitted Himself to become visible, manifested in the flesh, so man could no longer say he cannot worship an invisible God. A whole generation saw Him, and over 400 at one time saw His resurrection body, giving ample proof He arose bodily, that He is the same God who created us and purchased redemption at the cross, and that He arose, ascended, and is coming again.
