How should we respond to the doctrine of the Trinity since we cannot fully understand it?
Scripture reveals God is one yet exists in three persons. Since finite human minds cannot fully comprehend this truth, the proper response is to accept it by faith, believe what God has said, and refuse to argue with His revelation.
Les explains that people cannot comprehend that Jesus was not just a prophet, but the Eternal Creator God who never stopped being God. Orthodox Jews refuse the Trinity and appeal to Deuteronomy, where Moses writes that our God is One. Absolutely He is One, but the rest of Scripture shows He is in three persons. Since no one can understand this fully, we take it by faith, because that is what Scripture says and what God is looking for. He expects us to believe what He has said, and we are not to argue with it.
