What did Jesus ask the disciples from the shore and what did they answer?
After the disciples had fished all night and caught nothing, Jesus stood on the shore and asked them, "Children, have ye any meat, any food?" They answered Him, "No." At that point they did not know that it was Jesus.
Les explains that after the disciples had gone back to fishing and had spent the night catching nothing, Jesus stood on the shore in the morning, though they did not know it was Him. He called them "Children" and asked whether they had any meat or food. They replied, "No." Les notes their answer likely carried the disgust of fishermen who had worked all night with nets and caught nothing.
John 21:5
