Did the disciples recognize Jesus standing on the shore?
No. When morning came, Jesus stood on the shore, but the disciples did not know it was Him. Scripture states plainly, 'the disciples knew not that it was Jesus.' They had fished all night and caught nothing, and they failed to recognize the figure on the shore.
Les explains that Peter decided to go fishing, and the other disciples went with him. They fished all night and caught nothing. When morning came, Jesus stood on the shore, but the disciples did not recognize Him. Les notes that fishermen who catch nothing are disgusted, and these men were no different. Jesus asked them, 'Children, have ye any meat?' and they answered, 'No.' They still did not know it was Jesus.
But when the morning was now come, Jesus stood on the shore: but the disciples knew not that it was Jesus.
