What power are believers under instead of being under the Law?

Believers are under the power of the Holy Spirit, the third Person of the Godhead, who indwells them. Instead of the Law, the Spirit keeps them from wanting to steal, lie, covet, or commit immoral acts, providing the power the Law could not.

Les teaches from Romans 8:11 that Paul reveals a truth not seen in the Gospels: when a person becomes a child of God in this age, the Holy Spirit raises them from deadness in sin and indwells them. That is why believers no longer need the Law. Being not under the Law does not mean license to sin; rather, believers are under the power of a Person of the Godhead who keeps them from the very things the Law demanded they not do—things the Law itself could not accomplish. The Spirit keeps them from wanting to steal, speak falsely, covet, and commit immoral doings.

Romans 8:11

But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you.
