How many churches does Scripture recognize?

Scripture recognizes only one church, not many denominations. That one church is the composite of true, born-again believers, members of the Body of Christ, made into that one body by the baptism of the Holy Spirit, whether Jew or Gentile, bond or free.

Les explains that although there are thousands of denominations and cults in America alone, the Scripture only knows of one church. That one church is the composite of true, born-again believers. They are members of the Body, and they get there by the baptism of the Holy Spirit, not by water. Whether Jew or Gentile, bond or free, all have been made to drink into that one Spirit. Les points out that this language about the one body and one Spirit is not found in the Gospels.
