Are Paul's epistles' distinctive points found in the Gospels?
Paul's epistles contain distinctive points not found in the Gospels. These truths are absent from the Old Testament, Christ's earthly ministry, and the early book of Acts. Paul's writings, such as I Corinthians 15:1-4, present doctrine that must be compared against the Gospel accounts, where none of it is found.
Les explains that he will take points Paul brings out in his epistles and have listeners keep them in mind so that when they go back to the Gospels they realize none of this is back there. He clarifies that you do not throw the rest of the Bible away in order to study Paul, but you must understand that many things Paul brings out in his letters are not in the Old Testament, or even in Christ's earthly ministry, or in the early book of Acts. He then begins with I Corinthians chapter 15, the first four verses, to make the comparison.
