Why is Jesus worthy to be the Passover lamb?

Jesus is worthy because His three years of earthly ministry corresponded to the three days Israel examined the Passover lamb for blemishes. During that time He proved Himself sinless and impeccable. As Paul says, He who knew no sin never sinned, so He was a lamb without blemish and without spot.

Les teaches that the Passover lamb was kept and examined for three full days before the 14th to make sure there was no blemish. If the slightest thing was wrong, it had to be rejected. That pictured Jesus' three years of earthly ministry, where He also proved Himself without blemish. Paul says He who knew no sin never sinned; His three years were impeccable, so He proved Himself worthy to be the Passover lamb—a lamb without blemish and without spot. Les then points to Hebrews 9:22 and stresses that the blood cannot be dismissed, no matter what liberals say or what songs are removed from hymn books.
