How did Christ fulfill the Passover lamb?

Christ fulfilled the Passover lamb by shedding His blood to purchase our redemption, as pictured in Exodus 12. Israel was to take a lamb without blemish, a male of the first year, from the sheep or goats, a type that pointed to His redemptive work.

Les explains that the whole concept of the Passover lamb in Exodus chapter 12 shows how Christ fulfilled it, and how He has indeed shed His blood to purchase our redemption. This all began in type, or picture, back with the nation of Israel in Egypt. The Lord spoke unto Moses and Aaron in the land of Egypt, telling them that month would be the beginning of months and the first month of the year. On the tenth day of that month, every man was to take a lamb for a house or family. If the household was too little for the lamb, he and his neighbor next to his house could take it according to the number of souls, every man according to his eating. The lamb was to be without blemish, a male of the first year, taken out from the sheep or from the goats.
