Les Feldick Bible Study

What did Les teach about the morality of pagan religions?

Pagan religions are grossly immoral even in their religious practice, not merely in society. Such immorality—prostitution and similar practices—has been accepted in the Orient for centuries. Christianity, by contrast, has acted as the brake against moral collapse, and removing believers and the Holy Spirit's work leaves nothing to restrain iniquity.

Les teaches that the pagan religions of the world are grossly immoral even in their religious practice. He says what shocks America—the breakdown of morality and casual gross immorality—has been that way in the Orient for centuries; prostitution and other things are simply part of society despite religion. He contrasts this with the Judeo-Christian structure: Christianity has been the brake on falling moral principles, and Christians have had to stand in the gap. If you take away every believer and the Holy Spirit's role, nothing is left to hold back iniquity.
