What is at the core of idolatrous and mythological religions according to Les?
At the core of idolatrous and mythological religions is immorality. Their pagan temples, such as those of the old Greek and Roman gods, functioned as glorified houses of prostitution in the name of religion. Idolatry has no moral code, so it naturally leads to uncleanness and dishonor of the body.
Les teaches that if you go back and study idolatrous and mythological religions of the world, at the very core of their operating is immorality. He explains that idolatry has no moral code, and the pagan temples of the old Greek and Roman gods were just glorified houses of prostitution in the name of religion. This follows the pattern from the idolatry of verse 23 to the immorality of verse 24, where God gave them up to uncleanness through the lusts of their own hearts, to dishonor their own bodies between themselves.
