Why will the world face tremendous inflation and food rationing in the end times?
The world will face tremendous inflation and food rationing because wars among nations produce massive destruction. That destruction creates a great dent in the food supply and distribution, causing scarcity. The pale horse of Revelation 6 indicates this famine and inflation, following the wars pictured by the earlier horsemen.
Les explains that Jesus’ end-time discourse describes escalating wars: the first horseman has a bow but no arrows and takes peace from the earth, and the next horseman, the red horse of Revelation 6, corresponds to nation rising against nation and kingdom against kingdom. The third horseman, the pale horse, indicates famine and inflation. As a result of these wars among the nations, Les teaches, there will be a great dent in the food supply and distribution, and the world will end up in tremendous inflation and tremendous food rationing because of massive destruction. Jesus also spoke of earthquakes in diverse places; Les notes earthquakes have increased greatly since about 1970 and happen almost daily, though news outlets no longer record most of them.
