What will happen when God lifts the Church out of the world?
When God lifts the Church out of the world, the restraining influence of believers as a dam in the river of iniquity is removed. That river of iniquity will then flood this planet like it has never been before. That is what will happen.
Les explains that Paul makes it clear in Thessalonians that the Church—the true Church, the believer—is like a dam in a river of iniquity. One day He is going to lift us out, and that river of iniquity is going to flood this planet like it has never been before. Until that happens, believers are to be that dam in the river and to stand in the gap, as Ezekiel said to the Jews. In the surrounding context, Les also describes believers as ambassadors for Christ, citizens of Heaven living in a foreign land, representing their home government and carrying out the designs, hopes, and aspirations of their homeland—namely Christ. They are Heaven's extension on earth, and if they do not fulfill this role, who will?
