From where do believers wait for the Lord Jesus Christ?
Believers wait for the Lord Jesus Christ from heaven, for their citizenship is in heaven. From heaven they look for the Savior, who will change their vile body to be fashioned like His. This positional truth means they are already in heaven in the mind of God, though still on earth.
Les explains that believers are not subjects of a King but co-heirs with a King, a truth found in Paul's writings and not in the Gospels. In Colossians 1, Paul gives thanks to the Father who made us partakers of the inheritance and translated us into the kingdom of His dear Son, which is in heaven. Thus positionally, in the mind of God, believers are already in heaven even while on earth. Then in Philippians 3, Paul says our citizenship is in heaven, and from heaven we look for the Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ, who will change our vile body to be fashioned like His.
