On what two levels does God deal with Israel in the Bible?
Scripture indicates God deals with Israel on two levels: the national level and the personal level. The national level relates to the nation under the covenants, while the personal level concerns individual Israelites. Most often God addresses them nationally because that is where the covenants apply, yet individual Jews can still be saved.
Les teaches that through the Scripture God deals with Israel on two levels, national and personal. The key is to look at whether He is dealing with the nation as a nation under the covenants or with an individual. Most of the time He deals with them nationally, because that is where the covenants come in. Yet an individual of Israel can still even today be saved, though nationally the Jew is blind. That does not mean an individual Jew cannot come and enjoy salvation. In the parable of the lost coin, Les leaves it as a condition of the nation of Israel, that which was God's by covenant promises, while the lost one is the one He brought to Himself, just like the little lost sheep.
