Which chapter of the Bible gives the whole history of Israel in a nutshell?
Acts chapter 7 gives the whole history of Israel in a nutshell. In that chapter Stephen addresses Jewish brethren and fathers and recounts God's dealings, beginning with the God of glory appearing to Abraham, Israel's father. The chapter is the biblical place to read for that condensed history.
Les teaches that Acts chapter 7 is where you find the whole history of Israel in a nutshell. The setting is Stephen standing before the Jewish council, and his face appeared as it had been the face of an angel because the presence of the Holy Spirit permeated him. He addresses “men, brethren, and fathers,” showing he is speaking to Jews, and he begins with the God of glory appearing unto “our father Abraham,” which a Gentile could not claim as father.
